Grindstaff 06/14/99 Goldia T. Grindstaff, 98, formerly of 170 Creek Bank Road, Elizabethton, died Friday, June 11, 1999, at Life Care Center of Elizabethton. Mrs. Grindstaff was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late William and Eliza Taylor Davis. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Noah Grindstaff, in 1976, a son, Billy Grindstaff, and a daughter, Grace Grindstaff. Mrs. Grindstaff was a homemaker and a member of Stoney Creek Baptist Church. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Roy Luther and Virginia Grindstaff, Old Hickory, Tenn.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Hazel and Robert Carlisle, Elizabethton, and Shirley and Pete Prikals, Oak Hill, Va.; and a sister, Anna Speers, Boone, N.C. Six grandchildren, eight great- grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, is in charge of arrangements. GRINDSTAFF -- Funeral services for Goldia T. Grindstaff, 98, formerly of 170 Creek Bank Road, Elizabethton, who died Friday, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Sunday in the Autumn Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Estep and Rev. Brooks Peters officiating. Music will be under the direction of Don McAllister. Graveside services and interment will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the Grindstaff Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Joe Carlisle, Larry Woods, Clay Kirkendall, Pete Prikals Jr., Jack Mann, Earl Rock, Randall Roy Grindstaff and Matt Shoemaker. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Stoney Creek Baptist Church, the Staff of Life Care Center of Elizabethton and Dr. Eugene Galloway. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 9:55 a.m. Monday for the graveside services. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the Autumn Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home. Friends may also call at the residence of a daughter, Hazel Carlisle, 170 Creek Bank Road, Elizabethton, or at the residence of a granddaughter, Debra Woods, 205 Aviation Drive, Elizabethton, any time. Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
