Mr. Grindstaff was a native of Carter County and the son of the late Dan and Jenny Razor Grindstaff. He was also preceded in death by a sister and two brothers. Mr. Grindstaff was a member of Stoney Creek Church of Christ and a member of Dashiell Masonic Lodge #238 F&AM. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Army 3rd Infantry. Survivors include a son, Randy Grindstaff, Elizabethton; three grandsons, Daniel and Michael Grindstaff, both of Elizabethton, and Jonathan Barnett; a granddaughter, Lisa Marie Dugger, Bluff City; and a great-granddaughter, Kenzie Marie Dugger, Bluff City. Three sisters and numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, (423) 543-4917, is in charge of arrangements. www.Funeral-Plans.com/Tetrick GRINDSTAFF -- Funeral services for Hubert Grindstaff, 77, 1692 Highway 91, Elizabethton, who died Wednesday, March 28, 2001, will be conducted at 12:00 noon on Saturday, March 30, at Dungan Chapel Baptist Church with Mr. Eddy Craft, minister, and the Rev. Eric Heaton officiating. Interment will follow the service on Saturday at Grindstaff Cemetery. Military Honors will be accorded by the Captain Lynn H. Folsom VFW Post #2166. Active pallbearers will be Fred Grindstaff, Joe Dumic, Larry Stout, Keith Bowers, Jim Bates, Bobby Grindstaff and Tony Grindstaff. Honorary pallbearers will be Ken Dugger, Hoover Carden, Dennis Roberts, Todd Wiggins, Roy Daniel Grindstaff and Gene Grindstaff. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
