CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Nina S. Grindstaff, 30 Jul 2002 ----¤¤¤---- Nina S. Grindstaff Miss Nina S. Grindstaff, 80, Spruce Lane, Elizabethton, died Tuesday, July 30, 2002, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital following a short illness. Miss Grindstaff was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late I.W. "Wib" and Alice Richardson Grindstaff. She was also preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters. Miss Grindstaff was a craft maker. She was a member of Dungan Chapel Baptist Church and a member of the Elizabethton Senior Citizens. Survivors include three brothers, Parker Grindstaff, Hoover Grindstaff and Donald Paul Grindstaff, all of Elizabethton, and several nieces and nephews. Grindstaff, 80, 1200 Spruce Lane, Elizabethton, who died Tuesday, July 30, 2002, will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, August 1, in the Grindstaff Cemetery with the Rev. Richard Estep and the Rev. Brooks Peters officiating. Active pallbearers will be Preston Carrico, Timothy Grindstaff, Edward Grindstaff, David Guinn, Carrell Grindstaff and Tim Hardin. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Pine Ridge Care Center, the staff of Sycamore Shoals Hospital, Dr. Scott Caudle and the Carter County Rescue Squad. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday. Friends may also call at the residence of a brother, Donald Paul Grindstaff, 1224 Highway 91, Elizabethton, at any time.
