CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Pearl O. Grindstaff, 3 Jan 2004

Pearl O. Grindstaff, age 79, Garland Drive, Valdese, N.C., 
formerly of Opossum Hollow Road, Elizabethton, died Saturday, January 
3, 2004, in the College Pines Nursing Center in Valdese, North Carolina. 
A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Eli and 
Lorina Myers Oliver. 
She attended the Valdese First Christian Church. 
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, 
Clara Bowers, Annie Williams and five brothers, Cecil Oliver, Forney 
Oliver, Jess Oliver, Eugene Oliver, and Dan Oliver. 

Survivors include one son, Willard Grindstaff of Valdese, N.C.; three 
daughters and one son-in-law, Charlotte and Tim Chaney, Sherry Gail 
Grindstaff, all of Valdese, N.C.; Barbara Keller of Glen Alpine, N.C.; 
seven grandchildren, Timothy Chaney and spouse, Stephanie of Lenoir, 
N.C.; Dennis Paul Hardin and spouse, Amanda; Lisa Gail Beach and spouse, 
Daniel, all of Morganton, N.C.; Heather Dawn Keller, Megan Star Keller, 
both of Glen Alpine, N.C.; Brandy Ann Chaney and Sibitha Joyce Chaney 
both of Valdese, N.C.; four great grandchildren, Nakota Hardin and 
Devin Connelly both of Morganton, N.C.; Sierra Diamond Chaney and Blain 
Chaney both of Lenoir, North Carolina. 
The graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Wednesday, January 
7, 2004, at Buckles Cemetery with Mr. Doug Rasnick officiating. Active 
pallbearers will be Tim Chaney, Daniel Beach, Paul Hardin, Jewel 
Williams, Jack Keller, and Johnny Oliver. Those who plan to attend the 
graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home chapel at 10:15 
a.m.on Wednesday. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. 
Tuesday, January 6, 2004, at Tetrick Funeral Home or friends may call 
at the residence, 2859 Garland Drive, Valdese, N.C., at any time. Online
