CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Howard "Speck" Greenwell, 12 Jun 2004 ----¤¤¤---- Howard "Speck" Greenwell, age 79, of Old Charity Hill Road, died Saturday, June 12, 2004, at his residence following an extended illness. Born on Cat Island in Carter County, he was a son of the late Joseph Arthur and Sara Eliza Bowman Greenwell. Mr. Greenwell was a member of East Fairview Free Will Baptist Church and was retired from Inland Container Corp. after 35 years of service as a forklift operator and factory worker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers. Survivors include his wife, Anna Mann Greenwell, of the home, four daughters and one son-in-law, Carolyn Oliver Bradley, Janice Treadway and Jennifer Calloway, all of Elizabethton, and Teresa and Charles Kyle of Palm Coast, Fla.; six sons and three daughters-in-law, Wayne and Annie Greenwell of Salem, Ore., Jimmy and Cora Greenwell, Joseph Greenwell, William Greenwell, Ricky and Melinda Greenwell, all of Elizabethton, and Steve Greenwell of Bristol; and one aunt, Lizzie Stansberry of Butler. Numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Howard "Speck" Greenwell will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, June 14, 2004, at Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, with the Rev. Charles Trivett and the Rev. Bud Malone officiating. Music will be under the direction of James Nave. Interment will follow in the Deloach Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, June 13, 2004, from 5-7 p.m. in the Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, or at any time at the residence, at 191 Old Charity Hill Road. Active pallbearers will be David Mann, Lee Mann, Tim Williams, Allen Mann, Bob Williams, Jamie Mann, and Kevin Mann.
