CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Rachel P. Guinn, 18 Jul 2004 ----¤¤¤---- Rachel P. Guinn, age 95, Ford Lane, Elizabethton, died Sunday, July 18, 2004 at her residence following an extended illness. A native of Lebanon, Va., she had lived most of her life in Carter County. She was a daughter of the late David and Lola Hubble Puckett. Mrs. Guinn was a member of Pleasant Beach Baptist Church and retired from the Bemberg Corporation after 30 years of service. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Guinn was preceded in death by two sons, Mack Guinn, in 1998, and Thomas Puckett, in 2004, and by three brothers and six sisters. Survivors include five daughters and three sons-in-law, Mrs. Lucille Ownby, Mrs. Pauline and Jack McKinney, Mrs. Erma Stevens, Mrs. Louise and Carmen Whitehead, Mrs. Rose and Gordon Lewis, all of Elizabethton; two sons and three daughters-in-law, Ed and Dean Guinn and L.D. and Ruby Guinn, all of Elizabethton, and Audrey Puckett of Kingsport. Eight grandsons who survive are Jackie Collins, Bobby Collins, Michael Whitehead, Terry Whitehead, Jeff Lewis, Steve Guinn and Randy Guinn, all of Elizabethton, and Max Guinn of Johnson City. Five granddaughters who survive are Debbie Lowe and Sandy Fair, both of Elizabethton, Sharon Fair and Michelle Guinn, both of Johnson City, and Julie Canter, Telford. Twenty-nine great- grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Rachel P. Guinn will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 21, 2004, in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Stout, Rev. Steve Burleson and Rev. Joe Manis officiating. Music will be under the direction of the Pleasant Beach Baptist Church Quartet and Dean Palmer. The committal service and entombment will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 22, 2004 in the Mausoleum of Peace at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Everyone will meet at the chapel at 10:15 a.m. to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 21, 2004 in the chapel prior to the service or at the residence, 111 Ford Lane, at any time. Active pallbearers will be Jackie Collins, Bobby Collins, Michael Whitehead, Terry Whitehead, Jeff Lewis, Steve Guinn, Max Guinn and Randy Guinn.
