Mrs. Hall was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late William and Minnie Johnson Holtsclaw. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Lyda Hall, and by four brothers and a sister. Mrs. Hall was a homemaker and caretaker and was of the Holiness faith. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Julian Ingram of Chattanooga; a grandson, Dale Davis of Chickamauga, Ga.; a sister, Sally Freeman of Roan Mountain; two brothers, Wayne Holtsclaw and James Holtsclaw, both of Roan Mountain; two-stepdaughters, Shirley Tipton of Roan Mountain and Ruth Vance of Elizabethton; and a special friend, Valeree Turbyfill of Roan Mountain. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Mrs. Hall will be conducted at 8 p.m. Saturday, September 9, in the Rhododendron Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Roan Mountain, with Rev. Don Julian officiating. Music will be under the direction of Charlotte Smith. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service. The committal service and interment will be at 10 a.m. Sunday, September 10, in the Holtsclaw Cemetery, Roan Mountain. Those attending are asked to meet at the Rhododendron Chapel at 9:30 a.m. Sunday to go in procession to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Doug Barnett, Chris Barnett, Roger Dean Tipton, Terry Miller and Kim Barnett. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.tetrickfuneralhome.com.
