Louise B. Hammitt 





    Mrs. Louise B. Hammitt, 94, of Elizabethton, died Thursday, March 15, 

2007, at Pine Ridge Care Center. 





    A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late John and Martha 

Jane Johnson Blevins. 





    Mrs. Hammitt was a former employee of the Bemberg Corporation. She was a 

member of Doe River Baptist Church. 





    In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hammitt was preceded in death by her 

husband, Clarence L. Hammitt, January 25, 2001, a daughter, Linda Odom, and by 

nine brothers and sisters. 





    Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Misty Hammitt; two 

granddaughters, Madison Hammitt and Angie Corder; two grandsons, Eric Odom and 

Christopher Odom; and a great-granddaughter, Christin Odom. Several nieces and 

nephews also survive. 





    Funeral services for Mrs. Hammitt will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, 

March 19, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Haskiel Ingram officiating. 

Interment will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be 

selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be her church 

family. The family would like to express a special "thank you" to the 

employees of Pine Ridge Care Center for their kindness shown to Mrs. Hammitt. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 noon until 2 p.m. 

Monday, prior to the service. Friends may also call at the residence of Rick 

and Misty Hammitt, 106 Lynnwood Avenue, Elizabethton. Online condolences to
