Mrs. Hardin was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late Ray and Lottie Peters Lowe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Homer H. Hardin, a brother, Ray "Bud" Lowe Jr., an infant sister, Bernice Lowe, and a sister, Ruby Lowe Christian. Mrs. Hardin attended Union Hill Free Will Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Pierce, Elizabethton; a son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Ella Bourne, Elizabethton; five grandchildren, Stephanie Hopton, Tracey Bourne, Kristy Hyatt, Kristi Zureigat and Chelsea Pierce; six great-grandchildren; a stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Lema and Harley Cross, Elizabethton; two stepgrandchildren; a sister, Lucille "Bo" Taylor, Elizabethton; and a special friend, Wylmetta Buckles, Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Mrs. Hardin will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday, August 25, in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home with Rev. Tony Trott officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral chapel from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, prior to the service. Friends may call at the residence at anytime. The committal service and interment will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 26, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Those attending are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Saturday to go in procession to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to the American Cancer Society, 209 S. Riverside Drive, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
