Harrell Stella Pauline Fair Harrell, 89, of Johnson City, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2007, at the NHC Nursing Home after an extended illness. A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late S.S. and Martha Bradshaw Fair. Mrs. Harrell was a 1935 graduate of Elizabethton High School. She owned and operated Harrell's Grocery in the Laurels Community for several years. She was a member of Pinecrest Baptist Church, where she had served as a Sunday school teacher for several years. She loved to fish and loved to travel. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Steward Harrell, May 16, 2000, two brothers, Roy and Coy Fair, and three sisters, Clara Livingston, Ruby Hill and Myrtle Perry. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Rev. Billy and Edna Harrell of Johnson City; two grandsons, Gerald Harrell and his wife Robin and Billy Harrell, all of Johnson City; two great-grandchildren, Kaylob and Tristan; two sisters, Margaret Morley Dye of Jacksonville, Fla., and Mildred Owenby of Blairsville, Ga.; several nieces and nephews including a special niece, Myrtle Saucer; and her special friends, the Sullivan family. A graveside service for Mrs. Harrell will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 5, at Roselawn Memorial Park with the Rev. Lewis Shelton officiating. Interment follow the service. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, will be Eddie Tipton, Roy Tipton, Dayton Pate, James Berry, Bart Ritchie and Carl Ballard. Honorary pallbearers will be Cecil Tipton and Lynn Tipton. The family would like to express a special "thank you" to the staff and employees of NHC for all the love and care for Mrs. Harrell, also to Rev. Gary Thacker and her church family of Pinecrest Baptist Church and her church family of Pleasant Beach Baptist Church. To those who prefer, memorials may be made in memory of Mrs. Harrell to the Building Fund of Pinecrest Baptist Church, 2129 Old Lewis Road, Johnson City, TN 37601. Friends may call at her residence.
