Hazel S. Harrison 





    Hazel Stout Harrison, 83, 146 Harold Harrison Road, Roan Mountain, died 

Wednesday, March 14, 2007, at Charles A. Cannon Memorial Hospital. 





    A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Madison and 

Elsie Greer Stout. 





    Mrs. Harrison was a member of Highpoint Missionary Baptist Church. 





    In addition to her parents, Mrs. Harrison was preceded in death by her 

husband, Howard W. Harrison; a son, Jack Harrison; a daughter, Ila Harrison; 

and by two brothers and a sister. 





    Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Edna Harrison 

and James and Sue Harrison, all of Roan Mountain; a daughter and son-in-law, 

Lula Mae and Douglas Barnes of Morganton, N.C.; nine grandchildren; 15 great-

grandchildren; a special cousin, Anna Smith of Elizabethton; and two nieces, 

Joan Ramsey of Elizabethton and Susie Roberts of Roan Mountain. Several 

nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. 





    The funeral service for Mrs. Harrison will be conducted at 2 p.m. 

Saturday, March 17, in the Rhododendron Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Roan 

Mountain, with Rev. Jim Story officiating. Music will be under the direction 

of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Singers. Interment will follow at Markland-

Hill Cemetery, Roan Mountain. Active pallbearers will be selected from family 

and friends. The family will receive friends in the funeral chapel from 12:30 

until 2 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service. Friends may also call at the home 

of her son Charles, 147 Harold Harrison Road, Roan Mountain, at other times.
