Hazelwood Sherrill Edwin Hazelwood, 75, formerly of 106 Diary Lane, Elizabethton, died Monday, September 12, 2005, at Life Care Center of Elizabethton following an extended illness. Mr. Hazelwood was a native of Carter County and a son of the late Robert and Iris Huntley Hazelwood. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Tester Hazelwood, two brothers Richard and Shelton Hazelwood, and a special uncle, Ralph Huntley. Mr. Hazelwood was a member of Rittertown Baptist Church and was a retired farmer. Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Sherry Hazelwood and David Hazelwood, all of Elizabethton; a daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and David Honeycutt, Elizabethton; four grandchildren, Chris Honeycutt, Michael Hazelwood, MacKenzie and Makayla Hazelwood, all of Elizabethton; two great- grandchildren, Catilin Turner and Samuel Honeycutt, both of Elizabethton; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Dwain and Joyce Hazelwood and Ralph and Pam Hazelwood, all of Franklin; a sister and brother-in-law, Betty and D.L. Stevens, Hampton; and special friends, Jack and Ethel Honeycutt, Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The graveside service for Mr. Hazelwood will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 14, at the Rittertown Baptist Church Cemetery with Mr. Kenneth Miller, minister, and Rev. Eric Eggers officiating. Those wishing to attend will meet at the cemetery at 10:50 a.m. Wednesday. Friends may call at the residence of his daughter, Shirley Honeycutt, at anytime. Active pallbearers will be Kenny Tester, Tony Honeycutt, Steve Honeycutt, Troy Smith, Chris Honeycutt, Michael Hazelwood, MacKenzie Hazelwood and Bob Campbell. Special thanks is extended from the family to Dr. R. Eugene Galloway and the nurses, CNAs and employees of South Hall of Life Care Center of Elizabethton for the care given to Mr. Hazelwood during his stay there.
