Mr. Honeycutt was a native of Carter County and the grandson of the late Rath and Sallie Honeycutt. Mr. Honeycutt was a retired truck driver. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was an ex- P.O.W. He was a member of the following organizations: Dashiell Masonic Lodge No. 238, R.D. Keller Chapter No. 214, The B.E. Wooten Council No. 119, Carter Commandery No. 37, Jericho Shrine Temple, The York Rite, Tennessee Lodge of Research, Chattanooga, The Upper East Tennessee York Rite Association, The York Rite College NO. UD, Knoxville (A Charter Member), an Honorary Member of Hampton Masonic Lodge No. 750 and a member of the East Tennessee Chapter of P.O.W. Mr. Honeycutt was a member of Rittertown Baptist Church and the Starling Odom Sunday School Class. He was a dear friend to many. Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Bernice Forbes Honeycutt; a stepdaughter, Kathy Williams, Knoxville; two stepsons and their wives, Gary and Joyce Guinn, Hampton, and Bradley and Amy Guinn, Knoxville; his uncle and aunt, Beryl and June Whitehead, Roan Mountain; several cousins; and his special pets, CoCo and Buster. A Masonic Service for Mr. Honeycutt will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 28, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. Howard Ensor officiating. Graveside services and interment will follow in the Rittertown Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Haskel Ingram officiating, with Jon Shell as piper. Military Honors and pallbearers will be by the Tennessee National Guard. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 noon Saturday until the service hour. Friends may also call at the residence. To those who prefer, memorials may be made in memory of Mr. Honeycutt to the Knights Temple Eye Foundation, c/o David Lund, Howard Lipford Road, Elizabethton, TN 37643 or to the Rittertown Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
