Humphrey Grace R. Humphrey, 77, 112 East I Street, Elizabethton, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2007, at her residence. A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late William Wright and Bertha Graybeal Wright. Mrs. Humphrey was a retired employee of North American Rayon Corporation. She was a member of Stoney Creek Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Carl, John, Oscar, Ed and Will Wright, and four sisters, Mary Oliver, Hattie Mae Wright, Ruth Lewis and Thelma Grindstaff. Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Albert Humphrey; two sons, Ted Humphrey, Charlotte, N.C., and Keith Humphrey, Raleigh, N.C.; a daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Dennis Ornduff, Elizabethton; her grandchildren, Brian Smith, Tyler Humphrey and Jamie Humphrey; two sisters-in-law, Lois Wright, Elizabethton, and Adrene Tidrick of Florida; several nieces and nephews; her special little friends, Triston, Ireland, Trenton, Sydney, Ashlyn and Angelina; her special friend and neighbor, Judy Deloach; and her special friends at Medical Care, Dr. Kenneth Hopland and staff and the staff at Adventa Hospice Care. Funeral services for Mrs. Humphrey will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 13, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Bobby Stout officiating. Interment will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Dean Pierce, Gary Williams, Tyler Humphrey, Brian Smith, Jamie Humphrey and Scott Hochard. Honorary pallbearers will be nephews. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence.
