Heaton Road, Elizabethton, died unexpectedly Wednesday, August 24, 2005, at Johnson City Medical Center. Mr. Huskins was a native of Carter County and a son of the late Dana and Alice Peters Huskins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy Huskins, in 1998, and his second wife, Carol Champion Ledford Huskins, in 2004. Mr. Huskins was a member of Union Hill Free Will Baptist Church and loved to visit all of God's houses. He was retired from Siemens in Johnson City. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Kenneth Carver and Dana and Donald Dykes, all of Elizabethton; a son and daughter-in-law, Curtis and Sandy Huskins, Elizabethton; a brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Frances Huskins, Elizabethton; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Beulah Peters, Elizabethton, and Dianna and Ronnie Styles, of Georgia; his fiancée, Sandra Stout, Elizabethton; a step-daughter and step-son-in-law, Melissa and Lewis Frazier, Knoxville; five grandchildren, Brandi and her husband Mike, Brent, Lacey, Donavan and Allison, all of Elizabethton; two great-grandsons, Houston and Elijah, both of Elizabethton; and a special little friend, Emily, Elizabethton. The funeral service for Mr. Huskins will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday, August 26, in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home with Rev. Tony Trott, Rev. Ray Colbaugh and Rev. D.C. Byrd officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, prior to the service. At other times, friends may call at the residence of his son and daughter-in-law, Curtis and Sandy Huskins, 1216 Hwy. 91, Elizabethton. The graveside service and interment will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 27, in the Forbes Cemetery, Stoney Creek Community. Those attending will meet at the cemetery at 10:50 a.m. Saturday for the service. Honorary pallbearers will be brothers and sisters in Christ from all the churches. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to the Forbes Cemetery Fund, 139 Herman Peters Road, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
