CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Goldie Carver Hall, 11 Dec 2003 ----¤¤¤---- Goldie Carver Hall, 83, 406 2nd Avenue, Hampton, died Thursday, December 11, 2003 in the Johnson City Medical Center. A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Robert L. and Lockie Byrd Carver. Mrs. Hall was a retired cook at Hampton High School. She was a member of the Hampton Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Hall; four brothers and one sister. Survivors include a daughter, Roma Jean Mathes, Elizabethton; one granddaughter and her husband, Debbie and Jimmy Bunton, Elizabethton; three grandsons, John Paul and wife, Wendy Mathes, Hampton; Greg and wife, Teresa Mathes, and Brian Mathes, all of Elizabethton; three great grandsons, J.P. Mathes II, Cody Bunton and Jagger Mathes; three great granddaughters, April Bunton, Jeanna Mathes and Kristin Mathes, and one brother and sister-in-law, Reece and Carrie Carver, Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Saturday, December 13, 2003 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. Dwayne Calhoun, minister, officiating. Graveside services and interment will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, December 14, 2003 in Happy Valley Memorial Park. John Paul Mathes II and Dan Boner will provide the music. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 12:30 p.m. Sunday will be John Paul Mathes, Greg Mathes, Brian Mathes, J.P. Mathes II, Cody Bunton, Jimmy Bunton, Roger Carver, Kenneth Dykes and Paul Nave, Jr. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Friends may also call at her residence. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 12:30 p.m. Sunday to go to the cemetery. Condolences may be e-mailed to mfc@chartertn.net.
