Juanita Hampton
Miss Juanita Hampton, 87, formerly of Roan Mountain, died Monday, 
August 30, 2004 in Morristown, Tenn. following an extended illness. A native 
of Roan Mountain, she was the daughter of the late W. O. and Annie Hughes 
Hampton. 
She had worked as a sales clerk at Rhododendron Gift and Antiques. She 
attended Roan Mountain Holiness Church, Roan Mountain, and was a 
member of the Roan Mountain Garden Club and the Roan Mountain Citizens 
Club.
She was preceded in death by one brother, E. E. Hampton and one sister, 
Willie Hampton Cates. 
Survivors include one sister-in-law, Mary Alice Hampton, Roan Mountain 
and two nephews and their wives, Robert Lee and Gwen Cates, Morristown, 
and Bill and Jackie Hampton, Roan Mountain.
The funeral service for Miss Juanita Hampton will be conducted at 2 p.m. 
Wednesday, September 1, 2004 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy 
Funeral Home with Rev. Gene Honeycutt officiating. Burial will follow the 
service in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Sam 
Hyder, Joe Shell, Christopher Cates, Robb Cates, Brock Henry and Bill 
Hampton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 to 
2 p.m. on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, to those who desire, memorials 
may be made to Roan Mountain Holiness Church, c/o Church Treasurer, P. O. 
Box 156, Roan Mountain, TN 37687. Online condolences may be sent to the
