CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Jack Hankins ----¤¤¤---- Obituary appeared in a January 1968 issue of the Elizabethton Star Jack Hankins, age 69, of 1613 Burgie Street, Elizabethton, died in the Carter County Memorial Hospital late Monday night following an illness of four years. Mr. Hankins was a native of Greene County, a retired employee of the American Bemberg Corporation, and a member of the West Side Christian Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ethel Mae Hankins of the home; two sons, James Hankins of Boston, Mass., and Bob Hankins of Kingsport; a step-son, B.L. Reeter of Bristol; his mother, Mrs. Birdie Hankins of Greeneville; three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Emmett, Mrs. Eliza Owens and Mrs. Pearl Berger of Greeneville; two brothers, Taylor Hankins of Greeneville, and Boyd Hankins of Sarasota, Fla. Tetrick Funeral Homes is in charge of funeral arrangements. Funeral services for Jack Hankins will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday from the Tetrick Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Bill Gardner and Ronnie Savits, ministers. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of the funeral home where the body will remain. Active pallbearers will be Joe Stewart, Crook Jones, Jim Barnes, Fain Grindstaff, henry Hopson, Paul Hopson, Wade Peters and Clarence Pippin. Interment will be at Fairview Presbyterian Church Cemetery at Greeneville.
