Hardin Morrell Eston Hardin, 94, formerly of Bill Nave Loop, Elizabethton, died Thursday, May 16, 2002, at Pine Ridge Care Center, following an extended illness. Mr. Hardin was a native of Carter County and the son of the late Alvin P. and Bessie Bowers Hardin. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Alfred Johnny Hardin, Greene E. Hardin and Leonard Hardin, and a sister, Naomi Hardin. Mr. Hardin was the Oldest Member of Blue Springs Christian Church. He retired from North American Rayon Corporation after 32 years of service. He was a member of Dashiell Masonic Lodge #238 F&AM and was a 32nd Degree Mason for 52 years. Survivors include his wife, Vera Bowers Hardin, of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Grant W. and Phyllis Hardin, Hampton; a grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Jamey and Renee Hardin, Elizabethton; two granddaughters, Cindy Lenore Canter and Angela Hardin Shingleton, both of Elizabethton; a step-grandson, Gregory Lynn McKinney, Hampton; a step- granddaughter, Suzanne McKinney, Kingsport; three great-grandsons, Zachary Hardin, Elijah Shingleton and Dustin Canter, all of Elizabethton; a great- granddaughter, Keaton Shingleton, Elizabethton; a step-great-granddaughter, Madison Jane McKinney, Kingsport; a sister, Myrtle Buckles, Elizabethton; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Garnie and Beulah Hardin, Hampton, and G.C. Hardin, Elizabethton; and two special friends, Bob Couzzi and Lillie Jean McNeal, both of Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Visit our Web site at www.Funeral- Plans.com/Tetrick HARDIN -- Funeral services for Morrell Eston Hardin, 94, formerly of Bill Nave Loop, Elizabethton, who died Thursday, May 16, 2002, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Sunday, May 19, in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home with Mr. Richard Thomason and Mr. Don Marshall, ministers, officiating. Music will be under the direction of Ray Estep and Russell Potter. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, May 20, at Grover Bowers Cemetery, Blue Springs Community. Active pallbearers will be Sheriff John Henson, the Carter County Sheriffs' Department and Bob Couzzi. Honorary pallbearers will be Max Collins, Jason Wilson, Grover Bowers, Steve Franklin, Gayle Oliver, Bosco Canter, Wayne Shingleton, Fred Cole and Dr. David Fenner. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 10:55 a.m. Monday for the graveside service. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
