Bobby L. Hardin

MORGANTON, N.C. -- Bobby Lawrence Hardin, 72, of Morganton, died 
Friday, November 21, 2003, at the VA Medical Center, Asheville.
Born December 15, 1930, in Carter County, Tenn., Mr. Hardin was a 
son of Vergie Pierce Hardin, Elizabethton, Tenn., and the late 
Lilburn T. Hardin. He was also preceded in death by a son, Terry 
Lee Hardin, and a grandson, Jeffery Hardin Jr.
Mr. Hardin was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Korean 
Conflict.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include four sons, Kenneth 
Hardin, Jeffery Hardin and Vernon Hardin, all of Morganton, and 
Lewis Hardin, Drexel; a daughter, Bobbi Hardin, Hickory; six brothers, 
Billy Hardin, Jerry Hardin, Darrell Hardin and Douglas Hardin, all 
of Elizabethton, Tenn., Ed Hardin, Clarksville, Tenn., and Richard 
Hardin, Kitty Hawk; two sisters, Margaret Mathis, Greeneville, Tenn., 
and Ann Duke, Johnson City, Tenn. Ten grandchildren, five great-
grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, November 24, in the 
chapel of Valdese Family Funeral Care, Valdese, with the Rev. Doug 
Hardin and the Rev. Darrell Hardin officiating. Entombment will follow 
at the Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends 
from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, November 23, at the funeral home. Condolences
