CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Margie Alice Henson Hartley, 23 Jul 2004 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Margie A. Hartley Margie Alice Henson Hartley, 73, of Life Care Center of Elizabethton, formerly of J.D. Guinn Lane, Butler, went to be with the Lord Friday, July 23, 2004, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital following an extended illness. Mrs. Hartley was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late Percy and Pearlie Ellen Mann Henson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, William Hicks, her s econd husband, Carlie Hartley, a daughter, Diane Ingram McKinney, and a sister, Lexie Henson. Mrs. Hartley was a member of Stone Mountain Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Survivors include four daughters, Maxine Whaley and Julia Walsh of Butler, Cindy Phillips and Linda Vines of Elizabethton; three sons, Jerry Hicks, Butler, Wayne Hartley and Basil Hartley, both of Elizabethton; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters, Muriel Henson, Elizabethton, Texie Washburn of Connecticut and Frances Vanlandingham, Butler; two brothers, Percy Henson Jr., Butler, and Sheriff John Henson, Hampton; and special friend, Judy Vines, Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service will be conducted at 8 p.m. Monday, July 26, in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home with the Rev. Cecil "Nick" Bradshaw and the Rev. Howard Estep officiating. Music will be under the direction of Joel Crisp. The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8 p.m. Monday, prior to the service in the chapel. The graveside service and interment will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 27, in the Stone Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery, Butler. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 10:50 a.m. Tuesday. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Arthur Smith, Michael Dellinger and the staff of Life Care Center of Elizabethton. Special thanks are extended from the family to CNAs Sandra Lewis and Ann Rambo for the care given to Mrs. Hartley during her illness.
