CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Frances S. Harvey ----¤¤¤---- Mrs. Frances S. Harvey, age 86, of 14863 Prestige Drive, Woodbridge, Va., formerly of Hillrise Avenue, Elizabethton, died Friday, December 5, 2003 at her residence following a brief illness. Mrs. Harvey was a native of Washington County and had lived most of her life in Carter County. She had lived the last eight years in Woodbridge, Va. Mrs. Harvey was the daughter of the late Warner and Katherine Heaton Shell. She was of the Presbyterian faith. Mrs. Harvey was the Executive Secretary for the local Selective Service Board and retired from the Administrative Board of the Selective Service of Tennessee. She is preceded in death by her husband, G.A. "Red" Harvey, 1975; one sister, Ruth Laurain, and one brother, Cecil Shell. Survivors include one daughter, Debbie Veasey, of Woodbridge, Va.; two sisters, Helen Martin, Johnson City; Phyllis Reed, Jonesborough; one brother, David Shell, Stanton, Va.; two grandchildren, David Veasey, Woodbridge, Va.; Beth Veasey, New Jersey; two great grandchildren, Iris Veasey and Tyler Veasey, both of Woodbridge, Va; several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday, December 12, 2003 in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Pastor Kurt Styron officiating. The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 13, 2003 at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Honorary pallbearer will be Leroy Brewer. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 9:55 a.m. on Saturday for the graveside service. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. on Friday prior to the service in the chapel.
