Hatley Wiley T. Hatley, 91, 155 Rye Branch Road, Butler, died Friday, June 9, 2000, at his residence following a lengthy illness. Mr. Hatley was a native of Carter County and a son of the late William Skyles and Fannie Davenport Hatley. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Eliza Faye Isaacs Hatley, in 1993, two sons, Tom Hatley and J.D. Hatley, and by five brothers and five sisters. Mr. Hatley was a retired employee of American Bemberg Corporation and a member of Elk River Baptist Church. Survivors include three daughters, Geraldine Hatley, of the home, Thelma Stanton and Earlene Garland, both of Butler; three sons and daughters-in- law, Dave and May Bell Hatley, Dewey and Helen Hatley and Jessie Bud and Sharon Hatley, all of Butler; and a brother and sister-in-law, Norman and Venoria Hatley, Barberton, Ohio. Twenty-three grandchildren, several great and great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Hatley, 91, 155 Rye Branch Road, Butler, who died Friday, June 9, 2000, will be held at 8 p.m. Sunday, June 11, at Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, with Rev. Ray Green and Rev. Charles Cable officiating. Music will be by the Sugar Grove Church Quartet. Graveside services and interment will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 12, in the Hatley Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be grandsons; Kevin Hatley, David Hatley, Carl Hatley, Dewey Hatley Jr., Wesley Garland, Dennis Stanton, Mike Stanton, Daryl Stanton, Terry Stanton and Vernon Stanton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, prior to the service. Friends may call at the residence of a daughter, Thelma Stanton, 143 Rye Branch Road, Butler, or at the residence of a son, Dave Hatley, 145 Rye Branch Road, Butler, any time.
