Harold A. Hicks

Harold A. Hicks, Gap Creek Road, Elizabethton, went to be with the Lord, 
Thursday, August 14, 2003, at Asbury Center, Johnson City.
Mr. Hicks was a native of Carter County and a son of the late John H. and 
Millie Hardin Hicks. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Hazel 
Campbell Hicks, and three brothers, John Hicks, S.A. Hicks and Charles L. 
Hicks.
Mr. Hicks was a retired employee of North American Rayon Corporation and a 
U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving 38 months in the South Pacific. 
He was a member of East River Park Christian Church and the American Legion 
Post #49.
Survivors include his wife, Alma Clark Hicks; a son and daughter-in-law, 
Patrick and Connie Hicks, Elizabethton; a daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca 
and Ronald Fair, Elizabethton; two stepsons and their wives, Joel and Rita 
Clark, Elizabethton, and Robert and Carol Clark, Mountain City; a sister, 
Geraldine Pierce, Elizabethton; a brother, Carl Hicks, Elizabethton; four 
grandchildren, Patrica Cornett, Lori Hubbard, Andrew Hicks and Laura Hicks; 
and three great-grandchildren, Steve Cornett, Abigal Cornett and Cole Hubbard. 
Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Hicks will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, August 
16, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. Joel Stauffer, Mr. John H. Smith and 
Mr. Michael Koruschak officiating. Interment will follow at Happy Valley 
Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Tracy Clemons, John Rominger, 
Kenneth Hartley, Cecil Carr, Roger Clemons and Charles Eller. The family 
will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
