Hill Nell Lacey Hill, 98, 141 Bear Cage Road, Roan Mountain, died Tuesday, October 2, 2001, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital following a brief illness. Mrs. Hill was a native of Roan Mountain and the daughter of the late John L. and Celia Crowe Lacey. She was also preceded in death by five brothers and six sisters. Mrs. Hill was the oldest member of Roan Mountain First Baptist Church. She was retired from North American Rayon Corporation after 33 years of service. Survivors include two sons, Judge Arden L. Hill, Elizabethton, and the Rev. Jack Hill, Atlanta, Ga.; a daughter, June Hill Morton, Canton, N.C.; three grandchildren, Mike Hill, Johnson City, Karen Hill Owen, Atlanta, Ga., and Mark Hill, Elizabethton; and two great-granddaughters, Caroline Owen, Atlanta, Ga., and Catherine Voretta Hill, Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive. These services entrusted to Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home. www.Funeral- Plans.com/Hathaway-Percy HILL -- Funeral services for Nell Lacey Hill, 98, 141 Bear Cage Road, Roan Mountain, who died Tuesday, October 2, 2001, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 3, at Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, with Mr. William D. Hyers, minister, and the Rev. Richard Stout officiating. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 4, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Mike Hill, Mark Hill, Steve Christianson, Robert Orr, David Hyers and Gary Owen. Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Hale, Ray Hale, Elmer Hill, Ray Vance and special friends, Bernice Wax, Patsy Sutphin, Melba Ingram, Lucille Orr and Mrs. Frank Brown. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 10:55 a.m. Thursday. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
