CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Montie "Mont" Hill, 13 Nov 2004 ----¤¤¤---- Montie "Mont" Hill, 90, Sunrise Drive, Elizabethton, died Saturday, November 13, 2004, at his residence after a brief illness. Mr. Hill was a native of Hampton and the son of the late Garfield and Nettie Whitehead Hill. He was a loving father and grandfather and a friend to all. He will be greatly missed by all of us. Mr. Hill was retired from J.E. Green Construction Company and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Hazel Hill, Grace Hill Roberson and Christine Perkins, two brothers, Walt and Stuart Hill, and a nephew, Robert Hill. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, June and Frank Oliver, Shirley and Charles Pearson and Barbara and Jim Kimbrel, all of Elizabethton; nine grandchildren, Frank Oliver Jr., Montie Lowe, Vickie McKinney, Charles Pearson Jr., Carol Bare, Brian Kimbrel, Heath Kimbrel, Eric Kimbrel and Kraig Kimbrel; 11 great-grandchildren; one niece, Janie Sams; one nephew, George Roberson; and many special friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Sunday, November 14, with Pastor Bobby Stout officiating. Entombment services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, November 15, in the Mausoleum of Peace, Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Monday, will be Frank Oliver Jr., Charles Pearson Jr., Brian Kimbrel, Heath Kimbrel, Barney Bare, Brad McKinney, George Roberson and Mike Hill. Honorary pallbearers will be Clarence Perry, Cliff Tittle, Arlie Webb, Dayton Harrell, Jim Pauley, Bill Peterson, Larry Andes, Buster Whitehead, Roy, Thad, Rick, David and Bill Ingram, Lib Lyons, Robert Perkins, Arnold Clark, Teresa Holden, Dr. Joe May, Spud Hollified and Tony Pierce. The family would like to express a special "Thank You" to the Johnson City Hospice Staff, Dr. Joe May and his Staff, and all of his many wonderful friends. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Monday to go to the cemetery.
