Hilmon 12/13/99 Elmer Dewey Hilmon, 50, 114 Herman Honeycutt Road, Roan Mountain, died suddenly at his residence on Saturday, December 11, 1999. Mr. Hilmon was a native of Carter County and the son of Velma Blevins Hilmon, Roan Mountain, and the late Junior Honeycutt. Mr. Hilmon was a retired pipe fitter and a member of the Local 538 Pipe & Steam Fitters Union. He was a member of Little Mountain Baptist Church. Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his stepfather, Elmer Hilmon, Roan Mountain; a brother, Glenn Hilmon, Hampton; three sisters, JoAnn Norris, Hampton, Mary Sue Goodwin, Bessemer, Ala., and Debbie Stevens, Roan Mountain; two uncles, Dale Blevins and Sterlin Blevins, both of Roan Mountain; two special cousins, Mike Blevins and Terry Lee Blevins, both of Roan Mountain; an aunt, Billie Spooner, Bessemer, Ala.; and a special friend, Sandra Carver, Limestone. Several nieces, nephews and other aunts and uncles also survive. Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, (423) 542-2232, is in charge of arrangements. www.Funeral-Plans.com/Tetrick HILMON -- Funeral services for Elmer Dewey Hilmon, 50, 114 Herman Honeycutt Road, Roan Mountain, who died Saturday, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Monday in the Autumn Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Coonse officiating. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Nelson Cemetery on Ripshin. Active pallbearers will be nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Local 538 Pipe & Steam Fitters Union. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 9:55 a.m. Tuesday for the graveside services.
