CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Martha B. Hilmon, 15 Mar 2003 ----¤¤¤---- Martha B. Hilmon Martha B. Hilmon, 74, Bradley Street, Elizabethton, died Saturday, March 15, 2003 in the Johnson City Medical Center Hospital following an extended illness. A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Arvil and Hassie Hughes Barnett. Mrs. Hilmon was a member of Hopson Chapel Free Will Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas C. Hilmon, in 1964; a triplet sister, Mary Vance; five brothers, Clyde Barnett, Clarence Barnett, Ford Barnett, Omar Barnett, and Sanford Barnett. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Earlene and Nick Holtsclaw; Irene and Russell Lewis; Debbie and Rondal Anderson, all of Elizabethton; four grandchildren, Donna Holtsclaw, Anthony Lunceford, Chelsea Anderson and Austin Anderson, all of Elizabethton; a sister, Margie Williams, Johnson City; a brother, Buster Barnett, Roan Mountain; and a special triplet brother, John Barnett, Elizabethton. HILMON -- The funeral service for Martha B. Hilmon, 74, Bradley Street, Elizabethton, who died Saturday, March 15, 2003, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Monday, March 17, 2003 in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Rev. Ron Owens officiating and Kathy Wilson providing the music. The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2003 at the Capt. Nelson Cemetery, Ripshin Community with Teresa Nidiffer providing the music. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Hillview Health Center. Everyone will meet at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, at 9 a.m. on Tuesday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 17, 2003 in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, or at the residence at any time.
