Hinkle 09/20/99 Wilma Creola Hinkle, 91, 105 Hinkle Road, Hampton, died Thursday, September 16, 1999, at Johnson City Medical Center Hospital following an extended illness. Mrs. Hinkle was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late King and Emma Lewis Shaw. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James M. Hinkle, in 1976; a son, James T. Hinkle, in 1995; a daughter, Lorraine Cable, in 1998; four brothers and three sisters. Mrs. Hinkle was a member of Union Baptist Church. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Jean and Jerry White and Billie and Johnnie Sneed, all of Elizabethton, and Barbara and Ron Pierce, Hampton; two sons, Charles and MacArthur Hinkle, both of the home; a daughter-in-law, Ida Hinkle, Hampton; nine grandchildren; 12 great- grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; three special friends, Betty James, Betty Jo Montgomery and Denise Banner; a special nurse, Lisa Torbett; and a special House Care aide, Gail Southerland. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
