Hinkle 02/15/99 Mrs. Iva M. Hinkle, 83, of Life Care Center, formerly of 211 Daytona Place, Elizabethton, died Saturday, Feb. 13, 1999, in Life Care Center following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Hinkle was a lifelong resident of Carter County and a daughter of the late Sabin Lafayette and Julia Berry Mottern. She was preceded in death by her husband, John William Hinkle, Jr. in 1970. Mrs. Hinkle was a homemaker. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons: John W. Hinkle, III, Atlanta, Ga.; and Barry P. Hinkle, Elizabethton; two granddaughters, Shannon Hinkle Woodby, Jonesborough; and Beth Hiles, Elizabethton; three great-great grandchildren: Mikalena Jade Woodby, Jonesborough; Hannah Alexis Hiles, Elizabethton; and Johnny Ray "Gunner" Woodby, III, Jonesborough. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, is in charge of arrangements. HINKLE -- Funeral services for Iva M. Hinkle, 83, of Life Care Center, formerly of 211 Daytona Place, Elizabethton, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16, 1999, in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home with the Rev. James Lindsay officiating. Music will be by Mr. Jerry Barnett, soloist, and Mrs. Mary Lindsay, organist. Interment will follow in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Life Care Center. The family will receive friends in the funeral home from 1-2 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service.
