Holsclaw Bertha Mae Holsclaw, 92, 207 Old Siam Road, Elizabethton, died Wednesday, May 23, 2001, at her residence following an extended illness. Mrs. Holsclaw was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late Elbert and Ada Gregg Miller. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard Holsclaw, in 1967, two sons, David and Stewart Holsclaw, a daughter, Virginia Holsclaw Davis, a son-in-law, Bill Turner, and by two brothers and three sisters. Mrs. Holsclaw was a member of East Side Christian Church and was a homemaker. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Howard Jr. and Dinah Holsclaw and John Wesley and Jane Holsclaw, all of Elizabethton; five daughters and four sons-in-law, Mable Turner, Beatrice and Ken Gouge, Mildred and Wade Woods, Frances and Ernie Depew, all of Elizabethton, and Charlotte and Tommy Brill, Pascagoula, Miss.; 27 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; a daughter-in-law, Billie Holsclaw, Robertsdale, Ala.; and a very special friend, Virgie Nidiffer, Elizabethton. Visit our Web site at www.Funeral-Plans.com/Tetrick HOLSCLAW -- Funeral services for Bertha Mae Holsclaw, 92, 207 Old Siam Road, Elizabethton, who died Wednesday, May 23, 2001, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday, May 25, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home with Mr. John Smith and Mr. Lawrence Harris officiating. Music will be under the direction of Clay and Shirley Nelson and Mary Smith, organist. Graveside services and interment will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 26, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be W.G. Ward, Jack Bailey, Richard Oatman and Mack McKinney. Special thanks to the Housecall Hospice and the Carter County Rescue Squad. Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Saturday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence, 207 Old Siam Road, Elizabethton, at any time.
