CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Etta J. Honeycutt, 29 Nov 2003 ----¤¤¤---- Etta J. Honeycutt Mrs. Etta J. Honeycutt, 72, McQueen St., Butler, died Saturday, November 29, 2003 at her residence. A native of Hampton, she was a daughter of the late Bruce and Nell Peters Pierce. She was a 1949 graduate of Hampton High School and a graduate of Steed College of Business in Elizabethton. She had formerly worked for the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Washington, D.C. and Knoxville. She was also employed by Cooper's Office Supply in Johnson City for several years. Mrs. Honeycutt was a member of Hampton Christian Church but attended Butler Baptist Church for the last ten years. Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Albert "Bud" Honeycutt; one son, Bruce Alan Honeycutt, of Piney Flats; two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law, Edna and Lowell Stalcup, of Butler, and Linda Moore Honeycutt, of Piney Flats; two nieces, Angela Gail Rasnake, of Piney Flats, and Melanie Daun Atkins, of Bristol, Va.; two great nieces, Madison Rae and Alexa Grace Rasnake, of Piney Flats, and several cousins. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2003 in the Butler Baptist Church with the Rev. David Cunningham officiating. Interment will follow in the Butler Memorial Cemetery. Jean Ann Poore, soloist, and Betty Cunningham, organist, will provide the music. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the church at 1:50 p.m. Tuesday will be Justin Bunting, Howard Courtner, Wayne Harris, Jack Peters, Bill Peters and Jeremy Peters. Honorary pallbearers will be friends and neighbors and the Johnson City Medical Center Hospice Group. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday in the church.
