CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Mable Edwards Honeycutt, 9 Dec 2003 ----¤¤¤---- Mrs. Mable Edwards Honeycutt, 86, 1208 Broad Street, Elizabethton, died Tuesday, December 9, 2003 in the Life Care Center of Elizabethton following an extended illness. A native of West Jefferson, N.C. she had lived in Dayton, Ohio for 20 years and returned to Elizabethton in 1982. She was the daughter of the late William and Rosa Houck Edwards Sr. She was a restaurant pastry maker and a member of Grace Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Honeycutt in 1956; two brothers, Howard Edwards and Robert Edwards; two step-mothers, Sally Hopkins Edwards and Winnie Drogan Edwards; three sisters, Alma Davis, Berniece Edwards and Gladys Edwards and a special sister-in-law, Pauline Edwards. Survivors include a brother, William Edwards Jr., Elizabethton; two sisters, Sue Hart, Knoxville and Sylvia Hopkins, West Jefferson, N.C.. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Mable Edwards Honeycutt will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday, December 12, 2003 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Owens officiating. Music will be under the direction of Harol Smith, soloist and Pat Presnell, pianist. Interment will follow the service in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Deacons of Grace Baptist Church or other members of the church. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Grace Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 to 3 p.m. on Friday or at the residence, 1208 Broad Street, Elizabethton, at any time.
