CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Gaye Bell Honeycutt, 9 Feb 2005 ----¤¤¤---- On February 9, 2005 God sent his prettiest angel to carry home the sweetest, most gentle mama, grandma, and great-grandma. Gaye Bell Honeycutt, 81, of Hampton, went home to be with Jesus surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Honeycutt was a daughter of the late Manuel and Mandy Hill Honeycutt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Honeycutt, two daughters, Abby Roberts and June Dale Honeycutt, and a brother, Dallas Honeycutt. Mrs. Honeycutt attended Fairview Freewill Church. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Janice Honeycutt and Jr. and Tishy Honeycutt, all of Elizabethton; four daughters and sons-in-law, Evelyn and Doyle Jones, Unicoi, Hattie Lee and Darrell Hitechew, Hampton, Geraldine and Lonnie Shell, Elizabethton, and Susie and George Lyons, Hampton; two grandsons, Chuckie Jones and Scott Roberts; four granddaughters, Holly Wiseman, Michelle Gouge, Amy Greene and Courtney Hitechew; five great- grandchildren, Peyton Wiseman, Kaiser Gouge, Jonah Greene, Kristen Roberts, Casey Roberts and Darryl Hitechew; a brother, Blaine Honeycutt, Delray Beach, Fla.; two half brothers, D.L. Honeycutt, Westminster, Md., and Lewis Honeycutt, Hampton; and two half sisters, Lillie Blevins and Martha Hardin, both of Hampton. Several nieces and nephews also survive, along with a host of her friends. The funeral service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday, February 11, in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home with Rev. Burnie Jones, Rev. Marvin Slagle and Rev. Randy Johnson officiating. The graveside service and interment will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 12, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Those who plan to attend the graveside are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Saturday. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday, prior to the service. Friends may also call at the residence at anytime. Active pallbearers will be grandsons, Scott Roberts and Chuckie Jones, and nephews, Neil Honeycutt, Amos Stevens Jr., Blaine Honeycutt Jr., Eston Honeycutt, Buster Young Jr., J.L. Mullins, Michael Mullins, Charles Odom, Anthony Buck and Elmer Roberts. Honorary pallbearers will be Rev. Charlie Trivette, Dr. Robert Schubert, Dr. David S. Hecht, Dr. Parrish and Jim Shell.
