CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Mary Elizabeth Tester Hodge, 22 Sep 2002 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Mary E. Hodge Mary Elizabeth Tester Hodge, 73, 1900 Preston Road, Johnson City, died Sunday, September 22, 2002, at Pine Ridge Care Center following an extended illness. Mrs. Hodge was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Martha Bryant Tester. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Tester. Mrs. Hodge was a member of King Springs Free Will Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and a member of the Women's Auxiliary of the Johnson City Free Will Baptist Churches. Survivors include her husband, Edgar C. Hodge, of the home; two daughters, Gail Johnson, Jonesborough, and Judy Haney, Johnson City; a son, David Hodge, Johnson City; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Rufus Tester, Elizabethton, Robert Tester, Kingsport, and Joe Tester, Rockford, Ill.; six sisters, Virginia McAmis, Fay Owens and Imagene Morris, all of Elizabethton, Beatrice Huckabee, Rogersville, Ala., Helen Bullock, Piney Flats, and Frances Perry, Aberdeen, N.C.; and three sisters-in-law, Annie Tester and Helen Tester, both of Elizabethton, and Alda Tester, Kingsport. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
