CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Joel W. Hodge, 17 Apr 2003 ----ددد---- Joel W. Hodge Joel W. Hodge, 74, Majestic View Court, Elizabethton, died Thursday, April 17, 2003 at his residence. A native of Carter County, he is the son of Rhoda Nave Hodge, Elizabethton, and the late Ivan Hodge. Mr. Hodge was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, and placed the three crosses on the hill overlooking Elizabethton. He was a retired iron worker and newspaper carrier for the Elizabethton Star. He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Jo Hardin. Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Dora Marie Hodge, of the home; a son, Greg Hodge, Elizabethton; a daughter, Vickie Hodge, Elizabethton; two brothers, Jerry Hodge, of Bristol; Ronnie Hodge, Elizabethton; two sisters, Susie Davey, Elizabethton; Charlotte Morris, Elizabethton, and a special niece, Jacklyn Morris Saylor. Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, is in charge of arrangements. HODGE -- The graveside service for Joel W. Hodge, 74, Majestic View Court, Elizabethton, who died Thursday, April 17, 2003, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 19, 2003 at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Rev. Steve Witt officiating. Active pallbearers will be Keith Saylor, Barry Brownlee, Dewey Renfro, Steven Hicks, and Brantley Wooten. Honorary pallbearers will be Dick Brandt. A special thanks to Adventa Hospice, Dr. Anand Karnad, and the nursing staff of James H. Quillen V.A. Medical Center Hospital; also thanks to a special angel, Buffy of Adventa Hospice.
