CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Mamie B. Hodge, 30 Mar 2005 ----¤¤¤---- Mamie B. Hodge, Marion Branch Road, Elizabethton, went to be with her Lord Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at Johnson City Medical Center after a short illness. Mrs. Hodge was a native of Old Butler and a daughter of the late Martin and Eva Strickland Lunceford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Worley Birchfield, a daughter, Georgia Mae Birchfield, and two brothers, Bill and Joe Atwood. Mrs. Hodge was a member of Zion Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Clyde M. Hodge; two sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Wanda Birchfield, Hampton, and Floyd and Kim Hodge, Buda, Texas; two daughters and sons-in-law, Helen and Gene Renfro and Lynn and Bill Haynes, all of Johnson City; seven grandchildren, Crystal Flores, Johnson City, Chris Birchfield, Hampton, Gene Renfro, Johnson City, Paul and Matthew Hodge, both of Buda, Texas, Meredith Haynes and Alison Haynes, both of Johnson City; two great-grandchildren, McKinnley and Gentry Self, both of Johnson City; six half sisters, Dorothy Reece and Margaret Campbell, both of Butler, Jean Perkins and Lois Lathrop, both of DeKalb, Ill., Jean Hisle and Frances Mills, both of Richmond, Ky.; three half brothers, Earl Atwood, Mountain City, Bob Atwood, Hampton, and Ray Lunceford, Richmond, Ky. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Clyde M. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Hodge will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday, April 2, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. C.W. Snodgrass and the Rev. Harold Campbell officiating, Graveside services and interment will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 2, at Happy Valley Memorial Park with the Rev. Ronnie Campbell officiating. Music will be provided by Crystal Flores, Zion Baptist Church Choir and the Zion Baptist Church Quartet. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Saturday, will be grandsons: Chris Birchfield, Gene Renfro and Matthew Hodge and Bruce Hall, Willie McVey, Teddy Greenwell, Chet Bageant, Doug Bogart and Ray Loveless. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Zion Baptist Church, Terry Whitehead, Ralph Barnett, Norman and Wilma Anderson, Olen Pate, Richard Arnett, Larry Honeycutt, L.D. Berry, Jeter Hale, Ralph Williams, Marvin Patton, Bill Crumley, the nursing staff of Johnson City Medical Center and employees of Life Care Center of Elizabethton. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral chapel. Friends may also call at the residence. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Saturday to go to the cemetery.
