CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Elizabeth L. Holt, 27 Mar 2004 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Elizabeth L. Holt, age 77, Holston Ave., Elizabethton, went to be with her Lord and Savior, and her grandson, Michael Marshall, on Saturday, March 27, 2004 at Life Care Center, Elizabethton, following an extended illness. A native of Avery County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Lou Davis. She was a member of Prayer Tabernacle. Mrs. Holt was a homemaker and also was a former waitress at Hook's Restaurant. In addition to her mother and grandson, Mrs. Holt is preceded in death by two sisters, Gladys Stonecipher and Pansy Baker, and two brothers, Bynum Davis and Steve Davis. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Guy E. Holt, of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and David Hill, Elizabethton; Karen and Clarence Marshall, Jr., Hampton; one son, Ernie Holt; four grandchildren, Lana and spouse, Robert Montgomery, Elizabethton; Ernie "Joel" and spouse, Teresa Holt, Johnson City; Steven "Eric" and spouse, Christy Holt, Jonesborough; Joshua Taylor, Hampton; four great- grandchildren, Mindy Montgomery and Brandon Montgomery, both of Elizabethton; Amber Holt and Megan Holt, both of Johnson City, and special friend, Virginia "Gina" Montgomery, Elizabethton. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 30, 2004 at Prayer Tabernacle, with Rev. A.G. Wagner, Rev. Johnny Hilton, and Rev. Phil Poston officiating. Music will be under the direction of the Gospel Trio. Burial will follow the funeral service at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Ronald Ritchie, James Arnold, Wayne Hilton, and Bill Fraley. Honorary pallbearers will be friends and members of Prayer Tabernacle. A special thank you to the Carter County Rescue Squad and Adventa Hospice with special mention of Stephanie Powell and Ginger Branch.
