CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Ana Beatrice Heatherly, 4 Jan 2005 ----¤¤¤---- Ana Beatrice Heatherly, 85, formerly of Cottage Avenue, Elizabethton, died Tuesday, January 4, 2005, at Pine Ridge Care Center following an extended illness. Born April 13, 1919 in Carter County, she was the only child of the late David R. and Lula Estep Grindstaff. Mrs. Heatherly was a member of the Roan Street Church of God. She graduated from East Tennessee State College and became an elementary school teacher. Just after World War II, she married Luther Heatherly. They moved to St. Louis in 1966 where she took a position with the St. Louis Society for the Blind. Mrs. Heatherly retired in 1986 and returned to Elizabethton. She had been a resident of Pine Ridge Care Center for the past three years. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Lynda and Greg Ottersbach, and two grandchildren, Morgan and Mason, who all reside in Arizona. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 8, in the Garland Cemetery with Rev. Earl Golden officiating. The family will receive friends at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, from 9 until 10 a.m. Saturday, prior to the graveside service. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to the American Cancer Society, 209 S. Riverside Drive, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
