CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Elizabeth Jane Fletcher Hughes, 21 Sep 2004

Mrs. Elizabeth Jane Fletcher Hughes, Antioch Road, died Tuesday, 
September 21, 2004 in the Johnson City Medical Center.Mrs. Hughes was born in 
Carter County and was the daughter of the late Mark and Cally Fletcher.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother and homemaker.
Mrs. Hughes was a member of First Christian Church of Elizabethton.  She was 
preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Marie Hughes.Survivors include her 
husband of 57 years, Jack Hughes; two sons, Jack H. Hughes and wife, Valerie, 
of Jonesborough; Charlie John Hughes and wife, Sandra, of Elizabethton; two 
grandchildren, Jack R. Hughes, of Jonesborough; Matthew Joel Hughes, of 
Elizabethton; one great-grandson, Jack Hunter Hughes, of Jonesborough.
The graveside service will be conducted at 9 a.m. Saturday, September 
25, 2004 in Happy Valley Memorial Park with Rev. Kenneth Kyker and Rev. 
Brent Nidiffer officiating. Active pallbearers will be Jack R. Hughes; 
Mike Mitchell, Mark Miller, Billy Steadman, and Scotty Ernert. Jack H. 
Hughes will be an honorary pallbearer. The family will receive friends 
at the funeral home Friday, September 24, 2004 from 6 to 8 p.m., and may 
also visit with the family other times at the residence. Those attending 
the graveside service are requested to meet in the cemetery by service time.
