Hurd 08/30/99 Mrs. Norma Trusler Hurd, 80, 503 W. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City, died Friday, August 27, 1999, at Johnson City Medical Center following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Hurd was a native of Carter County and had lived in Washington County most of her life. She was a daughter of the late William and Nelle Burrow Trusler and was also preceded in death by her husband, Carter D. Hurd, in 1986, a son, two sisters and a granddaughter. Mrs. Hurd was retired from the Johnson City Medical Center Hospital. She was a member of First Christian Church of Elizabethton. Survivors include two sons, Robert D. Watts, Plano, Texas, and William C. Hurd, Johnson City; a daughter, Lisa N. Bishop, Dublin, Ireland; a sister, Mary Fincher, Pensacola, Fla.; and a brother, Robert A. Trusler, Pensacola, Fla. Six grandchildren, two great- grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Appalachian-Hartman Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City, (423) 928-6111, is in charge of arrangements. HURD -- Funeral services for Mrs. Norma Trusler Hurd, 80, 503 W. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City, who died Friday, will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday from the chapel of Appalachian-Hartman Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Stout officiating. Graveside committal services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Highland Cemetery, Elizabethton. Those planning to attend the committal service are to meet at the cemetery by 10:15 a.m. Wednesday. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Appalachian-Hartman Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City, is in charge of arrangements.
