Duane Hyder, 65, 143 Ruby Avenue, Elizabethton, who died Monday, September 29, will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, September 30, in the Oak Street Baptist Church with Rev. Bruce Hendrich and Rev. Richard Shaw officiating. Music will be under the direction of the Oak- Street Baptist. Church Choir with Dr. Tyler Hyder and Janet Weaver, soloists and Mr. Ken Smoll, tenor saxophone. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 1, in the Happy Valley Memorial Park with the Rev. Estel Williams officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the Capt. Lynn H. Folsom VFW. Post 2166. Active pallbearers will be deacons of Oak Street Baptist Church, Jerry Williams, Alberto Santiago, Will Andrews, Ben Watson Sr., and Alvin Woodby. Honorary pallbearers will be The Board of Directors and employees of the Northeast Community Credit Union, faculty of Elizabethton High School, members of Tennessee National Guard F Company, Jack Carrouth, Charles Laporte, Wayne Eggers, Homer Eggers, Jamie N. Smith, Ben Watson Jr., Rick Cates, Ernie Norris, Lowell McKee, Dr. N. E. Hyder Jr., Guy Hyder, Ken Deloach, Neal Bachman, Larry Nave, Carl Cates, Samuel Boyd, Paul Boyd, James Eggers, Joe Eggers, Joel Eggers, Cezar Santiago, Daniel Santiago, friends and neighbors. The family will receive friends in the Oak Street Baptist Church following the funeral service or at the residence, 143 Ruby Avenue, Elizabethton at any time.
