Theodore R. (Ted) Hyder, 72 Rt 1 Hampton died at 9:15 am Friday in the Carter
County Memorial Hospital and a son of the late Daunt and Harriet O'Brien
Hyder.  He was a retired tree surgeon and resided in the area a large part of
his life.  He attended the Holiness Church.  Survivors are his wife, Mrs.
Thelma Bowman Hyder, two sons Norman Hyder, Bristol, Tenn., and Dale Hyder,
Big Stone Gap, Va., one daughter, Mrs. Faye Person, Augusta, Ga., two sisters,
Mrs. Laura McKinney, Hampton, and Mrs. Cinda McKinney, Elizabethton, two
brothers, Cad Hyder, Elizabethton and Martin Hyder, Limestone Cove; three
grand children and one great grandchild also survive.  Hathaway Percy Funeral
Home is in charge of the arrangements.  Interment McKinney Cemetery.
