CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Clifford B. Hyder, 11 Apr 2004

LAKELAND, Fla. -- Clifford B. Hyder, 85, of Lakeland, died Sunday, 
April 11, 2004, at his residence.

Mr. Hyder was a native of Carter County, Tenn., and a former resident 
of Detroit, Mich. He had resided in Lakeland since 1960.

Mr. Hyder was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II and a member of Oak 
Grove Christian Church in Carter County. He was also a member of the 
American Legion, the Fleet Reserve, and the Paralyzed Veterans of 
America.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Maxine Hyder, Lakeland; a son, 
Gary Hyder, Marietta, Ga.; and a daughter, Karen H. Smith, Englewood, 
Fla. Three grandchildren also survive.

Full military honors will be performed at Arlington National Cemetery 
on Friday, May 7, at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made 
to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 3236, Lakeland, FL 33802 
or to the ALS Association, 9887 4th Street N., Suite 201, St. Petersburg, 
FL 33702. Arrangements were by Gentry-Morrison Funeral Homes, Southside
