Thelma Loraine Hyder, 88, Riverview Drive, Elizabethton, died 
Thursday, Aug. 12, 2004, in the Crestwood Medical Center, Huntsville, 
Ala. A native of Wise County, Va., she was a daughter of the late James 
and Verta Horn Lytton. She had lived in Elizabethton most of her life. 
She had been in Alabama for a short time. Mrs. Hyder was a charter member 
of the East Side Baptist Church, Elizabethton. She was preceded in death 
by her husband, Harry (Tub) Hyder, and a grandson, Steven Lynn Addington, 
March 28, 2003.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law: Marian and Jim Addington, 
Huntsville, Ala., and Sharon and Dwight Goad, Elizabethton; two sons and 
daughters-in-law: Jack and Jo Hyder, Elizabethton, and James and Connie 
Hyder, Titusville, Fla.; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and 
one great-great granddaughter. 

Funeral Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in Memorial Funeral 
Chapel with Pastor Jack Lyons and the Rev. Dale Holcomb officiating. 
Interment will follow in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers 
will be Steven Hyder, Scott Hyder, Dwight Goad, Stan Evans, Wayne Arnold 
and Steve Cornett. Honorary pallbearers will be Ralph Cole, Tilly Bandarra, 
Manuel Bandarra, Thelma Hughes, Ruth Franklin, Virginia Pinkard, Ada Nave, 
Mae Keller and the East Side Baptist Church family. The family will receive 
friends from 1:30-3 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Friends may also call 
at her residence, 1018 Riverview Drive, Elizabethton. Condolences may be
