CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Geneva L. Hyder, 25 Sep 2004 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Geneva L. Hyder, 93, formerly of Broad Street, Elizabethton, where she made her home with her daughter for the past 15 years, died Saturday, September 25, 2004, in the Hillview Health Center, following a brief illness. A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late James and Rhoda Humphreys Livingston. Mrs. Hyder was a member of Valley Forge Christian Church and was a retired employee of North American Rayon Corporation. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Estal Hyder, April 19, 1989, and three brothers, Jack Livingston, Clyde Livingston and Robert Livingston. Survivors include a son, Bill Hyder, Elizabethton; a daughter and a special son-in-law, Ardith H. and Herbert Curde, Elizabethton; six grandchildren and spouses, Charles Hyder, Elizabethton; Gary and Christie Hyder, Erwin; Marlous and Charlie Black, Columbia, S.C.; Lacie Hyder, Elizabethton; Patti and Keith Buck, Johnson City; Mikki and Ned Morrell, Kingsport; 11 great- grandchildren, Shannon Buck, Cody Buck, Brookney Morrell, Brandi Morrell, Jennifer Hyder, Carla Hyder, Justin Hyder, Josh Black, Chris Black, Garrett Hyder, and Jordan Hyder; special friends, Mariann White and Connie Hyder, Elizabethton; several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Geneva L. Hyder will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Monday, September 27, 2004 in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, with Dr. Don Marshall, minister, officiating. Music will be under the direction of Karen Sams and Ned Morrell. Burial will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 28, 2004 at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home or any time at the residence. Active pallbearers will be Charles Hyder, Gary Hyder, Robert Arnold Livingston, Paul Livingston, Wallace Livingston, Ned Morrell, Keith Buck, and Charlie Black.
