A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Dayton and Mae Largent Ingram. Mr. Ingram was a retired employee of Beaunit Fibers after 30 years of service and was a member of Hampton Christian Church. He was a member and Past Worshipful Master of the Hampton Lodge No. 750 F.&A.M., a charter member of the Jericho Shrine Temple and a member of the Hampton Chapter No. 470 O.E.S. In addition to his parents, Mr. Ingram was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Ingram, January 23 2005; three sisters, Kathryn Ball, JoAnn Whitehead and Mary Livingston; and five brothers, Charlie, Madison, Bill and Franklin Ingram and Tennessee Largent. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Randy "Chopper" and Pat Ingram of Hampton; a daughter, Teresa Diane Ingram, of the home; two grandchildren, Army Specialist Sherman Ray Ingram, stationed in Iraq, and Elijah Alexander Thaddens Ingram of Hampton; a sister, Mollie Hart of Johnson City; a brother, Roy Ingram of Elizabethton; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Raymond Crabtree. Funeral services for Mr. Ingram will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. Dwayne Calhoun and Mr. Kevin Hurley officiating. Music will be provided by Anna Hurley and Greg Odom. Entombment services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 7, in the Mausoleum of Peace at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, will be Vick Harrison, Gary Plank, Paul Smith, E.J. Blevins, Bill Ingram, Robert Miller, Terry "Mud" Montgomery and J.W. Baird. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Murray, Dr. David Freeman, members of Hampton Masonic Lodge, members of the Hampton Eastern Star, Garry Leonard, Keith Davenport, Greg Miller, Dr. George McQueen, D.C. Simerly, friends and neighbors. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence of his son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Pat Ingram, 104 Green Street, Hampton.
