CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Melba Taylor Ingram, 4 Aug 2002 ----¤¤¤---- Melba T. Ingram Melba Taylor Ingram, 84, 2218 Hillrise Avenue, Elizabethton, died Sunday, August 4, 2002, at Johnson City Medical Center following a brief illness. Mrs. Ingram was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late Charles B. and Martha A. Grindstaff Taylor. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ingram, in 1996; three brothers, Auburn Taylor, Phil Taylor and Joe Taylor; and four sisters, Deane Bryant, Jean Abbott, Pauline Taylor and Grace Miller. Mrs. Ingram was a member of Watauga Point Methodist Church. She was a teacher in the Carter County School System for 39 years and was a member of the Retired Teacher's Association. Survivors include a sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and Harold McCracken, Johnson City, and her extended family, the Tyler Britt Family of Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Dennis Milligan and the Rev. Stephen Payne officiating. Active pallbearers will be Joe Taylor, Paul Taylor, Bryan Burleson, Myrl Grindstaff, Bill Grindstaff and Ted J. Bryant. Honorary pallbearers will be the Sixth Floor Staff of Johnson City Medical Center. The family will receive friends at the residence at any time. Everyone will meet in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery.
