CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Delmer O. Irick, 18 Jul 2004 ----¤¤¤---- Miss Delmer O. Irick, 94, formerly of Ruby Avenue, Elizabethton, died Sunday, July 18, 2004 in the Life Care Center of Elizabethton following an extended illness. A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late B. and Emma Birchfield Irick. Miss Irick was a member of Centerview Church of Christ and was the last living charter member of "C" Street Church of Christ. She retired from Bemberg Corporation after 28 years of service working in the cafeteria. Miss Irick is preceded in death by one sister, Bernice Williams and four brothers, Dallas Irick, Clark Irick, Tom Irick and Edward "Sport" Irick. Survivors include two sisters and brothers-in-law, Amy and Darnel Baird, Elizabethton; Gussie and Bill Frazier, Florence, Ala.; several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 20, 2004 in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home with Mr. David Irick, nephew, officiating. Music will be under the direction of the Centerview Church of Christ Singers. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday prior to the funeral service in the chapel. The graveside service and burial will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 21, 2004 at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Centerview Church of Christ, Doctors and Nursing Staff of Lifecare Center of Elizabethton. Everyone will meet at the funeral home chapel at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery.
