Eugene Jackson 





    Eugene Jackson, 71, 108 Earl Avenue, Elizabethton, went home to be with 

the Lord, Wednesday, May 30, 2007, after a lengthy illness. 





    A native of Hampton, he was a son of the late Carmal and Belle Glover 

Jackson. 





    Mr. Jackson retired from East Tennessee State University. He was a member 

of Pleasant Beach Baptist Church. 





    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Arnold 

Jackson. 





    Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Ella Mae Head Jackson, of the 

home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin and Kelly Jackson and Ernest Kent 

and Cathy Jackson, all of Elizabethton; six grandchildren, Robbie Reibling, 

Kadie, John, Hope, Brittany and Crissy Jackson; three sisters and brothers-in-

law, Joyce and C.M. Woodby and Arlene and Boyd Stinson, all of Johnson City, 

and Lois and John Ragno, Palm City, Fla.; and a brother and sister-in-law, Roy 

and Judy Jackson, Kings Park, N.Y. Several nieces and nephews and special 

friends, Louie and Shelby Oliver, Gordon and Mabel Stepp, Thelma Cutshall and 

Adrian Tolley, also survive. 





    The funeral service for Mr. Jackson will be conducted at 8 p.m. Saturday, 

June 2, at Pleasant Beach Baptist Church with Rev. Bobby Stout, Rev. Charlie 

Biggs and Rev. Kenneth Jones officiating. Music will be under the direction of 

Greg Ruston and Dean Palmer. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. 

Saturday at the church. Friends may also call at the residence at other times. 

The graveside service and interment will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 3, at Happy 

Valley Memorial Park. Those attending are welcome to meet the family at the 

funeral home at 1:15 p.m. Sunday to go in procession to the cemetery. Active 

pallbearers will be James Berry, David Bowers, David Dunn, Eston Shaffer, 

Bobby Winters and Robbie Reibling. Honorary pallbearers will be Thom Vaughn, 

Sam Chesser, Harry Cable, Louie Oliver, Gordon Stepp, Carl Potter, Herman 

Arnold, Larry Lane and Jerome Finney. Condolence messages may be sent to the
